TWRA Posts Educational Video About Snakes

Nashville, TN) — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wants to educate people about snakes. The TWRA posted a video to its Facebook page yesterday asking people if they knew snakes will eat other snakes. The video showing one snake eating another was taken by TWRA Tennessee WildCast host Jason Harmon on his farm.

3 SCSO Corrections Deputies Relieved Of Duty

(Memphis, TN) — Three Shelby County Sheriff’s office corrections deputies are being relieved of duty. They’re off the job with pay pending an investigation. They’re accused of inappropriate conduct while working at the Shelby County Jail in downtown Memphis. The investigation is being handled by SCSO’s Bureau of Professional Standards and Integrity.

Shelby Co. Commission Racing To Get Budget Approved

(Memphis, TN) — Time is running out for the Shelby County Commission to approve next year’s budget. Commissioners spent hours working on the budget in committee yesterday. Shelby County Schools advocates are urging commissioners to okay millions in new academic investments, as well as tens of millions in capital improvements due to deferred maintenance of facilities. The commission is hoping to approve the budget Monday, which is the last scheduled meeting before the end of the fiscal year at the end of June.

City Watch Issued For Missing Endangered Woman

Memphis, TN) — A City Watch is being issued for a woman who was apparently taken from a Memphis hotel room by force. Police say a man crashed through a window at the Red Roof Inn on Shelby Oaks Drive yesterday morning and forced Dayley Long to leave with him. Family members say she previously dated the man who abducted her and they have a child together. MPD says Dayley Long is a missing endangered adult.
